A mother's journey to sensory-friendly clothing for HSP
The journey with my youngest son, Lex, opened my eyes to a challenge I never expected. Lex is highly sensitive, like me, and from an early age, he made it very clear what he did and did not want to wear. Many of the clothes I bought for him remained untouched in his closet—textures, seams, and labels irritated him, turning getting dressed into a daily struggle. I searched endlessly for soft, seamless and irritation-free clothing, but I found very few options. I knew that if I was struggling, other parents and children were too. That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a collection of ultra-soft, sensory-friendly clothing designed for sensitive children.
Creating products that truly help
Knowing first-hand how exhausting morning dressing battles can be, I wanted to develop products that genuinely support both children and parents. I wanted to ensure that the clothing I designed truly made a difference. To bring this vision to life, I collaborated with a fashion designer with expertise in sensory processing, with Wim Tops, PhD Professor in psychology, neurodiversity and inclusion at Hasselt University Belgium, along with a focus group of therapists, educators, speech therapists and parents. Their insights became the foundation of the sensory-friendly collection, ensuring that each piece is thoughtfully designed to provide calm and comfort.

The impact of sensory-friendly clothing
Many people don’t realise how much uncomfortable clothing can contribute to overstimulation and anxiety. When a child is constantly distracted or distressed by their clothing, it can impact their entire day, making it harder for them to focus, learn, and feel at ease. For children like Lex, wearing soft and seamless clothing is essential in helping them feel calm and secure.
The super soft base layers my son still wears
What started over 5 years ago with three ultra-soft, seamless trousers has now grown into a full range of sensory-friendly clothing and stylish accessories for children and adults. I am incredibly proud that SAM has been able to help so many families. Lex never leaves the house without his ultra-soft socks and boxers, and even as he grows older and chooses his own outfits, one thing remains unchanged—the base layers that he wears directly on his skin are always the ultra-soft pieces from SAM | Blusss. Seeing him still rely on them confirms that we truly made something special.
Blusss Mood and You – a new name, the same comfort
After five years of growth and development, SAM Sensory and More is evolving into Blusss Mood and You – a name that better reflects our international identity. Blusss offers elegant garments, refined accessories and meaningful resources, creating a complete lifestyle haven for sensory-sensitive individuals. Yet, our mission remains unchanged: to bring solace, comfort, and confidence to those with sensory sensitivities. Thank you for being part of our journey.
