How Sensory Boxer Shorts Helped My Son After 14 Months of Struggle

A Big Win in Soft Boxer Shorts We went through 14 long months where even thinking about underwear caused stress and discomfort for our son. Not only did he manage, he seemed truly comfortable. No tugging. No complaining. Just calm. These sensory-friendly boxer shorts  with seamless feel gave him something we hadn’t seen in a long time: peace in his own body. For us, that’s huge. How Seamless Sensory Socks Helped My Autistic Daughter Dress Without Stress

The First Time Without Struggle: A Morning Win with Sensory Socks Autism Coach Maïte Shares Her Daughter’s Experience with Blusss Every morning, getting dressed was a moment of tension in our home. I’m Maïte, autism coach at Atlass, and like many parents, I’ve seen how something as simple as putting on socks can create enormous stress. For my daughter Lienke, seams, tight cuffs, and uncomfortable textures turned this daily task into a real battle. Until we tried the seamless sensory socks from Blusss. One Small Change, One Big Relief For the very first time in years, my daughter put on her socks without help… and without struggle. No tears, no frustration—just calm and success. I even recorded a video of that first try, because honestly? It felt like a milestone. We often underestimate the power of comfortable, sensory-friendly clothing. But in our family, these socks are a true lifesaver. A Moment I’ll Never Forget I asked her:M: And how do they feel, Lienke?L: Good.M: Really? No, really?L: VERY happy! She smiled. She was proud. And I was so grateful. Why Blusss Sensory Socks Work Seamless design: no pressure points or itchy seams Soft, stretchy fabric: easy to put on independently Comfort at the ankle: no edges digging into sensitive legs These socks give my daughter not only comfort, but confidence and autonomy. Thank you, Blusss. You’ve taken a stressful moment and turned it into connection and peace.

Expert Insights on High Sensitivity: How Blusss Sensory Clothing Helps Sensitive Kids

Expert Insights on High Sensitivity: How Blusss Sensory Clothing Helps Sensitive Kids

On Labels and High Sensitivity: How Sensory Clothing Makes Life Easier Annelies HielDoula and Child coach High Sensitivity: Not a Limitation, But Insight I’m not a fan of putting labels on people. But discovering my own “label”—being a highly sensitive person—was a relief. It didn’t box me in; it helped me better understand myself, both as an individual and as a parent. High sensitivity gives me a rich emotional and sensory awareness. I notice the smallest things: someone’s mood, a shift in energy, or the way a fabric feels on my skin. That makes life intense—in both good and hard ways. The Beauty and Burden of Sensory Sensitivity Being highly sensitive means I feel beauty deeply. I love soft fabrics, gentle sounds, calming scents. But the downside? Overstimulation. A normal morning can feel like chaos: the radio is on, the baby is crying, one child is asking questions, my partner is saying goodbye with strong perfume lingering—all while I’m squeezing into a scratchy dress with an itchy label on my neck. The mix of clothing discomfort and sensory overload is too much. How My Daughter Feels It Too I see the same sensitivity in my daughter. She flourishes when she’s allowed to wear loose, soft clothes. She avoids tight trousers, thick socks, or jumpers. Her go-to outfit? A comfy dress, no labels, no tight seams—just ease. That used to be a struggle in winter. But then we found Blusss. Discovering Blusss: A Game-Changer for Sensitive Kids At first, she didn’t even want to try the Blusss sensory clothing I bought. So I wrapped the pieces like little gifts and placed them in her closet. The next morning, she unwrapped them out of curiosity, put them on, and instantly loved the feel. Now, no matter the season, she chooses Blusss herself—from seamless underwear to warm yet soft layers. It’s amazing how something so small, like a soft waistband or tag-free fabric, can make a huge difference when you finally understand the need behind it. Every Child Deserves to Feel Comfortable Of course, high sensitivity is a broad topic and this is just my perspective. But for me—and my daughter—discovering sensory-friendly clothing has brought so much more peace to our daily life. We no longer dread dressing for the day. Comfort is now part of our routine, thanks to Blusss. About Annelies Hiel & My Little Pancake I’m Annelies Hiel, mom of Louisa, Ellie, and Rosie. Sensory Solutions for Overstimulation explained by Stiene expert at Mind-Z

Sensory Solutions for Overstimulation explained by Stiene expert at Mind-Z

Effective Solutions for Overstimulation and Sensory Sensitivities How Blusss Sensory Products Make a Difference – In Practice Understanding Sensory Sensitivities: A Daily Challenge In my work at Mind-Z, I get many questions about sensory processing. People with autism or ADHD often deal with either hypersensitivity (too much input) or hyposensitivity (too little input). It affects how they experience sound, light, textures, clothing, and even their own body signals. That’s why I love working with Blusss (formerly SAM Sensory). The products are thoughtfully designed to meet real sensory needs—without looking or feeling “medical.” As a practice coordinator supporting neurodivergent children, teens, and adults, I see the impact every day. Common Sensory Challenges I See When I talk with clients, a few common struggles come up: Hypersensitivity: discomfort from seams, loud noises, bright lights, strong tastes or textures. Hyposensitivity: not noticing pain or hunger, needing deep pressure to calm down, bumping into things, or making loud noises. To assess this, I often use the Sensory Profile by Olga Bogdashina. Once we know someone’s sensory pattern, it becomes easier to find the right tools—like the ones Blusss offers. Blusss Sensory Clothing: Comfort Without Compromise Blusss clothing is a game-changer for clients who struggle with regular fabrics and seams. Even removing tags isn’t enough if the material itself feels rough or itchy. Blusss uses ultra-soft fabrics and seamless construction to make sure clothes feel just right. One of my absolute favorite items? The sensory underwear. It’s incredibly hard to find underwear that doesn’t irritate—and this one gets it right. And then there are the seamless sensory socks. Many of my clients wear socks inside out to avoid seams, but it’s not a perfect solution. Blusss socks solve this with soft, flat-knit seams and non-elastic cuffs. No tightness, no discomfort—just calm feet all day. Smart Tools for Calm and Focus Other essentials I recommend often include: The weighted collar: calming deep pressure for the shoulders and neck. The chewy fidget: discreet, wearable, and safe to chew. The ZenKey sensory keychain: quiet and grounding—perfect for school or work. Many common sensory toys (like fidget cubes or tangles) can be noisy or visually distracting. These Blusss tools are silent, soothing, and stylish. Why I Recommend Blusss to Families and Professionals There’s so much thought in every Blusss design: Quality fabrics – unbelievably soft, breathable, and durable. Seams that don’t irritate – often stitched on the outside, yet barely noticeable. Subtle and stylish – no “special needs” look, just cool and neutral colors. This means kids don’t stand out at school, and teens or adults feel confident wearing their sensory clothes in any setting. No awkward questions. Just comfort and inclusion. “These small but meaningful changes help children feel more included and comfortable in their daily lives.” Real-Life Impact: What I See in My Practice One boy I worked with couldn’t wear long pants—only shorts, even in winter. But with Blusss sensory trousers, he finally could. Another child only wore Crocs, refusing shoes because of sock discomfort. The seamless socks changed that. Even I personally use the weighted collar! After a day of work at my desk, I feel my shoulders relax, my headache eases, and I feel more grounded. It’s a simple but powerful tool. About Me – Stiene Van den Eynde from Mind-Z I’m the practice coordinator at Mind-Z, an independent center in Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver (near Mechelen). We support children, teens, and adults with autism, ADHD, and high sensitivity (HSP) in areas like school, work, stress management, and diagnosis acceptance. Want to know more?Visit Mind-Z

How Sensory Socks Helped My Child with DCD Dress Independently

How Sensory Socks Helped My Child with DCD Dress Independently

The Right Socks Changed Our Mornings From Daily Struggles to Smooth Starts I’m Liesbeth, mom of a bright and sensitive 11-year-old with DCD (Developmental Coordination Disorder). For years, getting dressed—especially putting on socks—was one of the biggest challenges in our day. Not because he didn’t want to, but because the socks just didn’t feel right. They were too tight, had annoying seams, or twisted as soon as he tried to pull them up. Most mornings ended in frustration—taking socks off and on again, twenty times over. Sometimes he gave up, other times it ended in tears. And honestly? It broke my heart. Then we discovered the Blusss Sensory Socks The first morning he tried the Blusss socks, he managed to put them on himself. No complaints. No do-overs. They fit right away. I saw the surprise on his face… and the pride. A small moment that meant the world to us. These socks are different: soft, seamless, flexible—and they don’t press or twist. They give him the independence he deserves and take away one of the daily hurdles we’ve been facing for years. It's more than just socks For us, these aren’t just pieces of clothing. They’re a little piece of peace. One less thing to fight against. One more moment of calm. And as a mom of a child with sensory needs, that’s priceless. Blusss made a real difference in our lives—with something as simple as socks.

How a Chewy Fidget Helps My Sensory-Sensitive Child Focus and Feel Calm

How a Chewy Fidget Helps My Sensory-Sensitive Child Focus and Feel Calm

How the Chewy Fidget Helps My Son Stay Calm and Focused A regular day with extra challenges I’m Katrijn, mom of a smart, sensitive nine-year-old boy who feels the world a bit more intensely than most. Like many children with sensory processing challenges, he has a strong chewing need—especially when he’s under pressure or trying to concentrate. Homework = tension = chewing Homework time is the toughest part of our day. As soon as he sits down, the restlessness starts. He fidgets, bites his sleeves, chews his pencil. It’s his way of coping—but it often leads to frustration, ruined clothes, and tears. Then I discovered the Blusss Chewy Fidget. The first time: instant calm The first time he used it, I saw a shift. He held it in his hands, started to chew gently, and slowly relaxed. No more gnawed hoodie strings. No more broken pencils. Just calm focus. Finally, a chewable tool that supports him instead of distracting him. A small tool with big impact What I love about the Chewy Fidget: It looks stylish and subtle—not like a toy It’s safe to chew, soft but durable It doubles as a fidget and a chewing tool And above all: it really helps So many autism-friendly accessories are too flashy or feel uncomfortable. This one feels just right—for both of us. One for home, one for school The Chewy Fidget has become a part of our daily routine. That’s why I’m ordering another one—so he can keep one at school too. Because support shouldn’t stop at the classroom door. He deserves to feel safe and regulated wherever he is. It’s more than just a fidget To my son, this little tool means understanding. To me, it means fewer meltdowns, less stress, and a calmer home. The Blusss Chewy Fidget isn’t just something to chew on—it’s a way to feel grounded. It gives my son the space to be himself.

How My Weighted Collar Helps Me Stay Focused and Calm

How My Weighted Collar Helps Me Stay Focused and Calm

How a Weighted Collar Boosts My Focus and Efficiency Feeling overwhelmed and losing focus? You’re not alone I’ve been there too—juggling countless tasks, racing through the day, feeling time pressure mount. Before you know it, your focus is gone and your efficiency takes a dive. In those moments, slowing down is the best thing you can do. That’s exactly what I do with my weighted collar from Blusss. Discovering sensory-friendly support for adults I already knew Blusss as a brand offering sensory-friendly clothing for kids. But recently, they’ve added beautifully designed calming tools for adults too—like the weighted collar. That’s where my story begins. What Is a Weighted Collar and How Does It Work? Deep Pressure Stimulation: The science behind the calm This collar provides gentle, even pressure on the shoulders and neck. It works through Deep Pressure Stimulation (DPS), which helps regulate the nervous system. I’ve used a weighted blanket for years at night, so I was curious to see what this collar could do during the day. My first try: love at first feel At an event for parents of highly sensitive children (organized by Bieke Geenen—more on that in a future blog), I tried the Blusss collar. The moment it rested on my shoulders, I felt grounded and calm. I knew right away—I needed this. When I Use My Weighted Collar For work, rest and everyday life I’m highly sensitive myself. I coach sensitive children and their parents, run a yoga studio, and balance family life as a wife, mother and grandmother. It’s a lot—and I need to stay centred to support others. My collar is my go-to tool for overstimulation, tension, or emotional overload. Small moments, big difference After a tough session, a long day, or an intense meeting, I take a break with my collar and a cup of coffee. On long car rides, I wear it to stay relaxed. It’s a small ritual that brings me instant relief. The Benefits of the Weighted Collar Security and calm in daily life The collar’s gentle pressure brings: A deep sense of comfort and safety A drop in stress hormones like cortisol Better focus and mental clarity Relief from shoulder and neck tension Perfect for work, study or travel Whether I’m at my desk, teaching yoga, or travelling by car or train—it helps me stay focused and calm without overstimulation. How Sensory-Friendly Clothing Helps Me and My HSP Son Stay Calm

How Sensory-Friendly Clothing Helps Me and My HSP Son Stay Calm

Finding Focus and Calm as a Highly Sensitive Person Karolien’s experience with sensory-friendly clothing for herself and her son Discovering Blusss Sensory Clothing I first met An from SAM during a 1-on-1 coffee chat for highly sensitive entrepreneurs. Of course, she was wearing Blusss clothing and had a few demo items with her. I got to try the SlowDown weighted collar and feel the ultra-soft, seamless fabrics firsthand. What a difference that made! Mornings Ruined by Socks At that moment, I immediately thought of my son Lasse—fiercely highly sensitive. Every morning started with a sock struggle. The seams bothered him so much it could set the tone for the entire day. Even turning socks inside out didn’t help. It was exhausting—for both of us. “This Feels Like Heaven!” After meeting An, I ordered the sensory-friendly bamboo socks and the AIR SLIM trousers for Lasse, since jeans seams often drove him mad. His reaction? “Oh, this feels like heaven!” He’s been wearing them non-stop ever since. The soft, seamless t-shirt was another hit. He finally feels free in his clothes—no more fighting his outfit. Supporting HSP Clients with Clothing That Calms As an HSP coach, I now recommend sensory-friendly clothing to clients who face daily stress, sensory overload, and overstimulation. What you wear does matter—softness, fit, and pressure can bring peace and grounding. My Own Need for Focus and Ease For myself, I invested in the SlowDown Collar and StylishComfort trousers. I wear them while working at my desk to stay grounded and avoid that “headless chicken” feeling. After just 15 minutes with the collar, I feel more focused, calmer, and less reactive. How a Weighted Bag Helps My Sensitive Child Unwind After School

"Can I Keep It On, Mum?" Bieke and Tuur Test the CalmDesign Weighted Bag A Therapeutic Bag That Brings Calm Today, I’m excited to share our experience with the CalmDesign Bag from Blusss — a weighted hip bag designed to support highly sensitive individuals through deep pressure. As a high sensitivity expert, I tested it myself and with my son, Tuur. We were both genuinely impressed by the calming impact it had. Why We Tested the CalmDesign Bag My son Tuur, like me, is highly sensitive. After a busy school day, filled with noise and impressions, he often feels overwhelmed. When we got the chance to try out the CalmDesign Bag, I hoped it would help him unwind and feel more grounded. "Can I wear this every day after school?" – Tuur Helping Kids Cope With Sensory Overload Instant Relief Through Deep Pressure Right from the first time Tuur put on the bag, the effect was noticeable. The gentle, deep pressure of the weight helped him relax. His spontaneous reaction said it all: “Can I wear this every day after school?” It was beautiful to see how it gave him immediate calm after a hectic day. My Personal Experience With the Bag A Safe Cocoon Around Me Of course, I had to try it too. I wore the bag crossbody during a shopping trip. With every step, I felt more grounded, as if the weight was creating a cocoon of calm around me. That subtle pressure gave a real sense of safety — something I know many highly sensitive people often long for. More Than Just a Stylish Bag Thoughtfully Designed for Sensory Needs The CalmDesign Bag is not just a bag. It’s a tool — made with care, combining function, comfort, and style. The ergonomic shape fits well to the body. The weighted pockets bring calm. And the whole design is subtle enough to wear daily, even in public spaces. A Valuable Tool for Sensitive Lives As someone who works with sensitive individuals, I can say with confidence: this bag is a powerful support. Whether you need it for school, work, travel, or just the chaos of everyday life — it’s a safe haven in a busy world. Sensory Clothing for Autism: Sylvana’s Honest Review of Blusss Comfort Wear

Sensory Clothing for Autism: Sylvana’s Honest Review of Blusss Comfort Wear

My Personal Struggle with Clothing: A Sensory Journey with Blusss Finding Answers and Starting a New Chapter My name is Sylvana, I’m 34 years old, and in April 2020 I received my autism diagnosis—after a long 32-year search. That moment brought clarity, answers, and a deep sense of recognition. A few months later, in February 2021, I started Wereld van Autisme, a platform and community for people with and without autism. I created it to offer support, connection, and easy-to-access information—because everyone deserves to feel seen and understood. Why Sensory-Friendly Clothing Matters So Much Finding clothing that truly feels good on my body has always been a challenge. Fabrics that itch, seams that press, waistbands that feel too tight—many pieces look nice but feel terrible. That’s why I was so excited to try the sensory-friendly clothing from Blusss (formerly SAM Sensory & More). I had heard great things about the brand and couldn’t wait to find out if it really made a difference. My Experience with Blusss Sensory Clothing I tested two items: the Sensory Trousers and the soft seamless Longsleeve. Both pieces were designed with sensory comfort in mind: soft fabrics, seamless design, and a fit that doesn’t overstimulate. From the first moment I put them on, I felt the difference. No tightness, no itching, no distractions—just calm. Finally, clothes that respect how I experience the world. Everyone Deserves to Feel Comfortable As someone with autism, sensory input can make or break my day. Wearing clothing that feels right gives me space to focus on what really matters—connecting, working, and simply being myself. Blusss has shown me that clothing can support, not overwhelm. I’m truly grateful for the experience and hope others with sensory sensitivities can find the same relief. About Sylvana & Wereld van Autisme I’m Sylvana, founder of Wereld van Autisme—a growing community for people looking for understanding, support, and real stories about life with autism. I share personal experiences, helpful tips, and insights to make the autistic experience more visible and relatable. Because nobody should feel alone in their search for recognition.
